Carbon
We’re growing our business and reducing emissions across our value chain at the same time. Through our carbon target, we’re reducing CO2 emissions across our value chain while, at the same time, we're growing our business. We’re focusing most on innovation for petrol efficiency and low-carbon solutions that we can deliver through robotics and battery technologies. This is simply because the biggest opportunity to lessen our CO2 impact happens when we reduce consumption of fossil fuels as our products are being used.
Carbon target
-10% CO2 emissions intensity reduction across the value chain

2018 Highlights
- Approx. 27% of sales of motorized products are battery-powered or electrical, compared to 11% in 2015
- 59% of electricity used in operations derives from renewable sources
Science-based targets
A -33% absolute CO2 intensity reduction from product use by 2035

“Setting goals that are approved by the Science-based Target Initiative demonstrates that we’re serious and committed to contributing to a low-carbon future.”
Kai Wärn, CEO and President of Husqvarna Group
When it comes to climate change, it’s important to take the long view. Our Science-based target (SBT) will be guiding us over the next fifteen years to cut the CO2 that’s emitted during the use of our products. By 2035, we aim to reduce CO2 by 33 percent compared to what was emitted in 2015, no matter how much we grow our business.

An SBT helps companies stay in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change. Through the target, we aim to do our part to keep temperature increases to below 2°C*. Our Sustainovate 2020 reductions target is the first step towards reaching our SBT.
We’re proud that Husqvarna Group was the first Swedish-listed company—and the world’s first forest and garden company—to have its CO2 reduction targets approved by the Science-based Targets Initiative.
