Product safety
Offering safe and high quality products is essential both for Husqvarna itself and for its customers. A safety perspective is applied throughout the development of products and processes in regard to the whole lifecycle of the product.
Husqvarna has a group wide product safety policy which sets forth the general policy regarding product safety including how to handle product safety concerns and market interventions. It also outlines each business area's obligations and the committee on products safety's approach to product safety.
In line with the comprehensive product safety policy, many different tools are being used to make sure products are in accordance with the safety requirements e.g. during the product creation process a comprehensive test work is employed in accordance with pre defined testing codes.
Other important product safety and quality tools are FMEA and risk assessment which are accomplished in e.g. the development and industrialization stages of a project as a part of the product creation process. Quality assurance plans for suppliers and quality audit of assembled machines are also important quality and product safety tools.
The Group also employs transparent and effective procedures for addressing customer inquiries and complaints and strives to uphold a fair and timely resolution of all customer disputes.
Labelling of products
Safety instructions for Husqvarna products are if possible printed on the product, in user handbooks and on the Husqvarna product website.
Counterfeit and pirated products
The protection of patents, brands and design and a proactive work against pirated product is an important element in protecting users of Husqvarna products. Pirated products pose safety risks to users of such products, as they don't meet safety requirements, and to employees at the factories producing such products as they don't meet environmental standards.
