Employee story: Mari Albinsson, Industrialisation Engineering Manager

Mari Albinsson

While I was still at university, I worked during vacations at Husqvarna's R&D centre in Jonsered, Sweden. I enjoyed the creative atmosphere and decided to apply for a job after graduation. I have always thought of Husqvarna as a professional company with high quality products, and I wanted to have the experience of working there.

Opportunities and challenges

I've been working with the construction products category of Husqvarna which has made several acquisitions in recent years and the job has been even more creative, innovative, and focused on continuous improvements than I had expected.

Since the Group has a wide range of products, sites, departments, and positions, there are a lot of opportunities to gain experience and to change position to take up new challenges.

I like the creativity, the opportunities to work on continuous improvements and the chance to see the final results of hard work.

In my previous position as a manager in China, which ended in late 2009, the big challenge was to build up a department from scratch in a new country and a new culture in a short period of time, in order to quickly support all new projects.

International dimension and work environment

Husqvarna is a global company and I have worked in a global environment right from the start, with regular communication with the US, Asia, Europe, and Australia. I am very exited and curious about different cultures and people, and it has been a fantastic experience to work in China. After getting used to this kind of work I think it would feel very isolating not to work in a global environment.

My experience of the working environment in Husqvarna has been positive both in Sweden and in China, but of course slightly different depending on each culture. I am incredibly grateful to have experienced working with our Chinese colleagues, who are all very positive, ambitious, and always willing to help other colleagues independently of culture and language barriers.

Husqvarna has recently started working on a massive plan for further development and improvements in several areas of the company, which will certainly lead to a lot of exiting work. It is an honor to be a part of it.
