AIESEC interns stories, Valeria Golubkova, Group Information Systems (GIS) Controller

Valeria Golubkova

"I am happy I was recruited for this position as it gives me the opportunity to participate in very interesting processes and to learn a lot. The main benefit of the internship for me is the unique work experience, new professional knowledge and the opportunity to understand the business culture of Sweden."

I graduated from the faculty of Banking and Finance at Saint-Petersburg University for Engineering and Economics in 2007 and I am now working in Husqvarna Group on budgeting and reporting procedures for GIS.

When I was a student I worked in the AIESEC local committee in the university. I was thinking about an AIESEC traineeship ever since I graduated and when I looked at the job description for Husqvarna Group it seemed to be interesting and professional.
Before coming to Husqvarna Group I worked as an auditor for two years in the Saint-Petersburg office of KPMG. During that time I participated in projects organized for companies in the different economic spheres, including retail, IT, oil and gas industry, construction, banking.

Opportunities and challenges

My manager organized an excellent introduction course for me during the first week of work. It gave me an opportunity to get acquainted with my colleagues and understand the major activities of the department and my role in the processes which take place in GIS at the moment. All my colleagues are very friendly and they help me in my work a lot.

I am happy I was recruited for this position as it gives me the opportunity to participate in very interesting processes and to learn a lot. The main benefit of the internship for me is the unique work experience, new professional knowledge and the opportunity to understand the business culture of Sweden.
